UNIT DEFINITION:
|
|
The methods of
assay used in our laboratories are as follows:
1) Percentage iron is determined spectrophotometrically with alpha-dipyridyl
on a moisture-free basis.
2) Cytochrome C is fully reduced with Sodium Dithionite at pH 7.0
and absorbance measured spectrophotometrically at 550 nm.
3) The auto-oxidizability is determined by the carbon monoxide method
of Tsou, C.L. Biochem J., 1951: 49, 362.
4) Purity is determined spectrophotometrically.
